Design Statement:

‘Maison Marguerite’, is a Lifestyle Editorial featuring contemporary interior styling and beauty photography conveying a dreamy and luxurious experience. Inspired by Kay Thompson’s 1955 story ‘Eloise: A book for precocious grownups’, Maison Marguerite embodies being the protagonist; the girl who lived at The Plaza Hotel, indulging the fantasy of living a never ending holiday. A warm and rich colour palette feels playful yet elevated, supported by graphic elements such as stripe patterns and hand-painted illustrations. These create a contrast between textures, accentuated through the interior furnishings and decor. Maison Marguerite plays on the contrast between old and new, and makes you feel as if you truly are in a boutique hotel. Creative direction, styling, photography, illustration and graphic design all created by Erin Taylor.
